"But be transformed by the renewing of your mind." Romans 12:2
I have said it a million times before. The keys to success in any endeavor can be summed up in three areas. You need:
1. A Winning Mindset
2. A Winning Strategy
3. Consistent Action
Let's talk about Mindset:
The winning mindset is one that is totally comfortable and invigorated by the desired outcome. We have said before that if you are always focused on trying to CHANGE that you will put yourself into a place of frustration.
Instead be focused on seeing your goals as a natural part of who you really are. In fact, make sure that when you create your goals in the first place that they are in alignment with YOUR values and your purpose and your calling.
You will become what you think about most of the time. So, what do you think about most of the time? Are you passive about what goes in your mind? Most people let their environment dictate their thoughts, their mood and their energy. They mindlessly watch TV, surf the internet, listen to the radio, and go through life unconscious.
Not you!
You are learning that the more you think about, dream about, visualize, and talk about TRUTH, the better you feel and the more focused you are on the right actions.
Find eternal promises that you can cling to. Read biographies of great people and you will become greater. Find people who have done what you want to do and hang around them – either virtually or in real life if possible. It will help you remove the limits. And then, get to know the Living God. He will teach you things that no person could reveal to you.
Feed your mindset on faith, hope and love and make your words line up with them.
When doubt and fear rear their heads (and they will) simply acknowledge their presence and make the choice to move forward. On some level your body is producing fear in an attempt to keep you safe. Sometimes the only data your brain has to work with is faulty conclusions from days gone by. That's why the fear does not usually reflect TRUTH. Keep moving forward in truth. And be strong and courageous.
That means you must take action.
If we become what we think about most of the time, than the words of Aristotle are also true. He said,
"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then is not an act but a habit."
Chances are you already know how to get where you want to go. You may not know the whole route, but you can see the next step. So take it!
And do it with your whole heart. Take action when you feel like it, and take action when you don't. Just get started. And then keep going! Since you are going to be creating habits anyway, you might as well create habits that serve and support your desired end.
You can get there from here.
Greatness is in your DNA.
So as we ring in this new year, I want to encourage you to keep playing to win and enjoy your game!
As always,
I'm in your corner,
Gina

This is simple but powerful wisdom. Just finished Beth Moore’s “Believing God” Bible Study. I love her proclamation of faith:
1. God is who He says He is
2. God can do what He says He can do
3. I am who God says I am
4. I can do all things through Christ
5. God’s Word is Alive & Active…in ME
If we make this the foundation of all our thinking – whatever thought comes in to our thoughts throughout the day, asking ourselves, “How is God bigger than this?”; “What does God say He can do about this?”; “What does God say about me, and my abilities?”
Meditating on the living Word of God we are truly more than conquerors, over-comers by the blood of the Lamb and the Word of our testimony.
Thank you for the wonderful reminder of how God renews me as He transforms my mind.
Melody, that is awesome and those are exactly the kinds of affirmations I meditate on. It is so hard or just plain boring to strive after greatness in our own power.
I continually have to push myself to do things and not let fear rule my day! But the feelings of accomplishment far outweigh the failures of simply doing nothing.
You do a great job, Debbi! I bet no one would guess that you have to push yourself. Have a wonderful New Year!
Greatness is in our DNA! I love that statement and I am taking that to heart, awesome article and put in a way that anyone can understand these concepts.
Thanks Kevin! Greatness is certainly in your DNA.
